Marymount Manhattan

President's Welcome

From the President

This is a very exciting time for Marymount Manhattan College.  We have wonderful new and continuing students, faculty and staff; a new Faculty Center that provides office space for twenty-seven faculty members; several new studios; and a new student residence scheduled to open in fall 2015 downtown on Cooper Square.  In addition to these physical improvements, we now debut this state-of-the-art website.  On behalf of the many students, faculty and staff who have worked for a year to develop it, I welcome you to Marymount Manhattan College’s new virtual home!

I hope that as you visit with us, either on campus or by exploring this revitalized resource, you will get a sense of the people who make up our College community: our faculty, staff, administrators, trustees, alumni, friends and most especially, our students. You will find that our College community includes an extraordinarily talented and engaged student body and a uniquely gifted group of scholars and educators, artists and performers, mentors and leaders.

Marymount Manhattan offers the best of both worlds — the personal approach of a small private college coupled with all the excitement and opportunity of one of the world’s greatest cities. New York City is our campus, and the College reflects all the diversity and vibrancy of this exceptional location.

The College’s goal is to inspire and enable each of our students to acquire the intellectual, social and moral qualities that lead to personal satisfaction and exemplary citizenship. This website strikingly demonstrates how our students, the leaders and innovators of tomorrow, are finding their voices at Marymount Manhattan College today, in an environment of respect and inclusiveness that supports and enhances each student’s talents.

I am honored to be a member of this College community. It steadfastly reaffirms the principles of a liberal arts education while teaching those principles through new and innovative methods of delivering and using knowledge. I invite you to explore the campus and our website for yourself. You will be warmly welcomed, and I am sure you will discover why MMC is considered a bright jewel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
