FRESHMAN student ADMISSION

Freshman applicants should be one of the following:

Currently enrolled in high school with no college credits
Currently enrolled in high school with dual enrollment college credits
Graduated from high school with no earned college credits
Have never attended MMC (see the readmit student instructions) if you previously attended MMC as a degree-seeking student)

Admission to the College is competitive and prospective students are evaluated for both admission and merit scholarships on a rolling admission basis. While an interview is not required, we do encourage you to visit campus and meet with an Admission Counselor to determine first-hand if MMC is a good fit for you.

Prospective students are encouraged to apply for admission only when they feel most qualified based on the highest SAT or ACT score and GPA, and other factors that strengthen their candidacy. Students are notified of their status within 3 weeks once all documents have been received.

Please note: Application instructions on this page refer to entrance to the College. Certain majors or special programs have additional requirements.

Completed MMC application or Common Application
Official high school or secondary school transcript or GED score sheet and diploma (home-schooled students must also submit the Homeschool Student Information Form)
SAT I and/or ACT scores (MMC code is 2405 for SAT and 2811 for ACT)
Two recommendations
Essay (250-500 words)
$60 non-refundable application fee

Students may apply for a deferral from the fall to spring semester only. Print and submit the Spring Deferral Application along with an official final high school transcript and most recent official college transcripts (if applicable). If attending college during the fall, be sure to submit those official transcripts once courses are complete. Keep in mind that your current academic record will be reviewed for consideration of deferral acceptance and scholarship eligibility.

Additional Requirements

Theatre Admission requires an audition and/or interview to be considered for the program. Schedule a date early as space is limited, priority deadline is December 1st
Dance Admission requires an audition to be considered for the program. Submit the official Dance Application directly to the Dance Office.
Art Admission requires an art portfolio review to be considered for a scholarship and/or placement in advanced courses. The deadline to submit portfolio for scholarship consideration is February 15 (fall entry)/November 15 (spring entry). Portfolios received after this date will be considered for placement only.
Program for Academic Access Admission requires the Academic Access Application and submission of specific documentation of a learning disability by the deadline of February 1. Students must be admitted to MMC prior to being considered for this program.
Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) requires both the educational and economic guidelines established by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to be met for admission.
