Are you looking for an academic challenge? Do you thrive in accelerated courses? If so, the College Honors Program is for you.
MMC offers this program to qualified students at time of admission. We welcome about 45 new College Honors Program (CHP) students each year. All incoming CHP students must take six (6) of their eleven (11) General Education courses in designated CHP sections.
Incoming first-year students may be accepted into the CHP on the basis of their high school grades and SAT or ACT scores. They must have achieved a minimum high school academic GPA of 3.5 and a minimum combined SAT score of 1200. The SAT Critical Reading and Math scores must be at least 550 each. Or, students must have achieved a minimum high school academic GPA of 3.5 and a minimum ACT Composite score of 26. The ACT English must be at least 26 and the ACT Math at least 24.
Transfer students must have achieved a minimum academic (core subjects) college GPA of at least 3.5. Transfer students with fewer than 15 college credits must have achieved a minimum combined SAT score of 1200 (minimum 550 Critical Reading and minimum 550 Math) or a minimum ACT Composite score of 26 (minimum 26 ACT English and 24 ACT Math). Up to two (2) honors-level courses completed at the previous college may be considered toward CHP credits. All incoming CHP students must have at least eight (8) General Education courses to complete at MMC.
International students will require the same criteria for admission to CHP for all first-year and transfer students. Those who submit TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores in lieu of SAT or ACT scores may be considered for CHP as well. They must have high ability as demonstrated by International Baccalaureate (IB) scores or other academic abilities and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
