MMC and Me

Why did you choose to come to Marymount Manhattan?
I always wanted to move to New York City, but knew that I needed a small school that would force me to focus on my education, while living in the world's greatest city. I also wanted a liberal arts experience where I would be exposed to a wide array of studies, not just my major.

What activities do you participate in at MMC?
I have been a Peer Leader for three years! As Peer Leaders we teach freshman Learning Community classes, as well as run orientation and events throughout the school year. I am also a member of the Marymount Business Association. I try to attend as many programs around campus as possible because we have so many amazing clubs and organizations. I also try and participate in volunteer opportunities such as NY Cares and the Ronald McDonald House.

What has been your favorite class taken at the college? Why?

It would be hard to pick one favorite class. Besides business, I have an interest in child development. I have taken courses such as Children's Rights, Child Development, and The American School. All of these courses opened my eyes to a wide array of topics regarding working with children. I think in the future I would love to work with kids, but I am still trying to figure out in what capacity!

Do you have a favorite memory from your time here so far?
I think my favorite memory would be all of the friendships I have made in the last four years; not only with fellow peers, but our amazing staff and faculty. I feel more than prepared to start a career in one of the busiest cities in the world, and I know that all of my memories will aid me in the work force! I will miss the busy commons, the library filled with laughter in September and silence around exams, and all of the classrooms where I have been allowed to grow personally and academically.
