MMC and Me

Why did you choose to come to Marymount Manhattan?
I really just happened upon Marymount. I had never planned on coming to live in the city for school. I grew up in the woods, so I thought I was going to end up in Vermont or somewhere like that. However, my friend was also applying to Marymount, and while he was doing his application, I started learning more and more about the school and ended up applying myself. I now love the city and never thought in a thousand years I would be living and going to school in NYC, but here I am! I really do think fate stepped in.

What activities do you participate in at MMC?
I make sure to attend all the dance and theatre shows at Marymount. They are always amazing and so professional. I also attend things like the Snow Ball (our winter formal) and the Boat Dance (our spring formal). Also, I try to get to any workshops or guest speakers that present here on campus.

What has been your favorite class taken at the college? Why?
There have been so many favorites but I would have to say Principles and Theories of Communication with Laura Tropp stands out the most. She is an amazing and a very energetic teacher who really pushes you to work hard. She inspired me and opened my eyes to the world of communications, and now I am double major in Communication Arts and History.
