Student Organizations
MMC Outreach
MMC Outreach is a student organization which exists to promote student involvement in community service activities and spread awareness and education regarding social justice issues. Their largest project is planning Alternative Spring Break Trips. On Alternative Spring Break, Marymount students have the option of spending their Spring Break engaged in meaningful service in a community outside their own. Past trips have included Hurricane Katrina relief in New Orleans and Hunger and Homelessness work in Washington, DC. This year, MMC Outreach is traveling to Guatemala to work with an organization called Volunteer Peten on environmental and youth advocacy issues.
Community Service Floor
One of MMC's themed floors is the Community Service Floor. Residents who sign up to reside on the CS Floor of the 55th Street Residence Hall engage in various outreach activities as a Floor as well as promoting community service involvement to the rest of the student body. Residents have monthly meetings where they learn more about the communities they serve and plan volunteer opportunities.
