Study art in New York City

At MMC, our classrooms extend far beyond campus. Within walking distance of the Met, MOMA, the Whitney, the Guggenheim, and Cooper-Hewitt, among others, our students live and learn in one of the world’s richest artistic communities.

Choose your major

As an Art major, you’ll have the chance to narrow your focus on Graphic Design, Photography, or Studio Art.

As an Art History major, you’ll explore the possibilities of the future through the lens of past works.

We also offer minors in Arts Management, Art Therapy, Art History, Studio Art, Graphic Design, and Photography, so you can design a program of study suited to your goals.

Art majors at MMC receive both professional artistic training and a solid grounding in the liberal arts. Raw talent and learned skill can only take your study of art so far. A liberal arts curriculum will nurture you intellectually, as well as artistically, while you develop your unique style.

get out there

Our professors represent the talent and know the intricacies of the New York art world. They have connections that make almost anything possible. Our students intern at Christie’s, the Met, MTV, and Condé Nast and assist in studios all over the city.

From apprenticeships and internships to special lectures and access to artists’ studios, studying Art at MMC is an opportunity of a lifetime.
