Open to high school students in their junior and senior year, Experience College for a Weekend Workshop provides students a taste of college life as experienced by dance majors in a college setting.
As a liberal arts college, Marymount Manhattan College prides itself on the interdisciplinary approach to educating a well-rounded dancer. This two-day intensive workshop includes technique classes in ballet, modern, and jazz as well as Improvisation and Composition in a conservatory training environment. Committed to the intellectual development of the dancer, the workshop also offers courses in Anatomy and Dance History to expose students to the complexities of the body and the importance of contextualizing today’s dance world to its historical past.
There will be a Q & A session for parents and students to get more information about college applications and the audition process at the conclusion of the workshop.
All courses will be taught by faculty from the Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department.
