Student Opportunities

Each year students intern in organizations and public offices across the city. A few examples of recent internships include:

Gemma Inguanta ‘13
Green Chimneys

The organization, dedicated to providing residential foster care and homeless youth programming for lesbian, gay, transsexual, and questioning youth, is a world class institution. “Interning with Green Chimneys I have learned the ropes of non- profit work,” Gemma explained, “and have a better understanding of New York City politics, advocacy, LGBT institutions, and my interest in specializing in community organizing upon graduation.”

Ingrid Sotel ‘10
State Senator Serrano

“When I was in college I did an internship with State Senator José Serrano, which led to a full time job.” Now as Community Liaison at the Office of the Manhattan Borough President for New York City’s East Harlem, Inwood, and Washington Heights neighborhoods, Ingrid Sotel ‘10 is the eyes and ears for the Borough President.
