  • What makes my contribution on MMC Giving Day special?

On October 8, your contribution has an even bigger impact than usual, thanks to a handful of generous supporters who will be providing challenge funds. All gifts, no matter the size, make a difference! Your support will fund projects that make a difference in our students’ lives, including need-based student scholarships, faculty and academic initiatives, campus improvements, and other areas of greatest need.

  • When is Griffins Give Day?

Griffins Give Day is Thursday, October 8, 2020. The 24-hour event begins at 12:00 am EST on October 8 and ends at 11:59 pm EST.

Making Your Gift

  • How can I make a gift securely on Griffins Give Day?

On October 8, you can make your gift from anywhere in the world in one of two ways:

    1. Visit www.mmm.edu/griffinsgive and click on the “Give Now” button between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EDT
    2. For help with making a gift by phone, please contact iaevents@mmm.edu between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EDT

Our payment methods are secure, and the information collected during Giving Day will be used only by MMC.

While we encourage giving online or by phone on October 8, gifts by mail intended for MMC Giving Day must be received by October 8 to be included in the day’s totals. Please mail your check, along with a note stating MMC Griffins Give Day, to:

    Marymount Manhattan College
    Griffins Give
    221 East 71st Street
    New York, NY 10021

If you need more information or assistance with making your gift email us at iaevents@mmm.edu.

  • Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. Marymount Manhattan College is a not-for- profit institution and your gift is fully tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt to submit with your taxes after making a gift.

  • Does my gift count towards my annual giving?

Yes. If it is your first gift this fiscal year, your gift on Griffins Give Day will be counted towards the annual giving participation rate. If you have already given this year, thank you for your support! We encourage you to be a part of Griffins Give Day and support what you are passionate about at MMC. Only gifts made on October 10 count toward the totals that can unlock challenge funds for the College. Your additional gift will inspire others to give as well.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum gift?

No! All gifts, no matter the size, make a difference. Whether you can contribute $1 or $1,000, we hope you will show your Griffin pride and support current and future MMC students with a gift on Griffins Give Day.

Reasons to Give

  • I already pay/paid tuition. Why should I donate more money to MMC?

The College is committed to keeping tuition as low as possible so as many students as possible can benefit from a Marymount Manhattan education. But that means we depend on the generosity of our donors to fill in the large gap that tuition doesn’t cover.

An MMC diploma is an investment in your future. By giving back, you are protecting this investment and sustaining the College’s reputation as a community of creative and intellectually curious students.

  • Where does my gift go and where do the challenge funds go?

Your donation supports MMC’s areas of greatest need. These include scholarships for deserving students in need of aid, career and internship services, faculty support, facility improvements, campus technology, and student events.

By giving to MMC, you are also helping to sustain innovative initiatives like CityEdge, the Bedford Hills College Program (BHCP), and the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP).

  • What is a challenge gift?

A challenge gift is a contribution that a donor has made that has a condition attached to it, with the goal of inspiring increased participation. The gift “unlocks,” or is officially donated, once the challenge goal is hit. For example, in one challenge gift, a donor has pledged to contribute $1,000 if we receive 10 gifts in the span of one hour.

We’ll announce additional challenges throughout the day, so stay tuned!

Other Ways to Participate

  • Besides giving, how can I help MMC Giving Day be a huge success?

There are so many ways to spread the word! Become a social media ambassador; let your friends, family, and networks know that you’ve made a gift; and encourage them to give too. Post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #griffinsgive. Send an e-mail or text message; make a call. Whatever method you choose, your voice will make an enormous difference in the success of MMC Giving Day.

  • How can I get in touch for more information?
