Major Gifts to MMC
(July 1, 2005 - December 31, 2005)
The Carson Family Charitable Trust, on the initiative of alumna and trustee Judith M. Carson '03 , committed a $5 million unrestricted gift to the College, and made an additional donation of $50,000 to the MMC 2005-2006 Annual Appeal.
The Starr Foundation donated $200,000 to the C.V. Starr Scholarship Fund.
An anonymous donor gave $125,000 to the Bedford Hills College Program.
Trustee Theresa Lang '97 , along with her husband Eugene, gave $50,000 through the Eugene M. Lang Foundation, to be used toward the Theresa Lang Scholarship.
The Rowe Family Foundation gave $50,000 to support faculty stipends, technology equipment and technology training for the Bedford Hills College Program.
The Thomas McKeehan Unitrust has donated $25,000 for the translation of MMC admissions materials from English into Spanish.
The Ambrose Monell Foundation gave $25,000 in unrestricted funds to the College.
Trustee Anne C. Flannery '73 gave $20,000 to Marymount Manhattan. $15,000 is to be used toward priority needs for the College, while the remaining $5,000 will go to the scholarship in her name.
Trustee Edgar Eisner gave $15,632.23 to MMC's 2005-2006 Annual Appeal.
Trustee Erwin Zeuschner donated $15,543 to the Zeuschner Family Science Scholarship Fund.
The New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has made two grants – for $10,000 and $5,000 – to MMC to purchase lighting equipment for the Theresa Lang Theatre. The grant was secured in large part through the efforts of Assemblyman Jonathan Bing, a strong supporter of the College.
The Herman and Henrietta Denzler Charitable Trust gave a $15,000 unrestricted contribution to Marymount Manhattan.
An anonymous alumna and trustee donated $10,246.23 to MMC's priority needs.
Board Chair Anna Hayes Levin gave $10,234.07 to MMC's 2005-2006 Annual Appeal.
Trustee Richard Berry gave $10,000 to MMC's priority needs.
Geraldine Ferraro '56 has donated $10,000 to the Antonetta Ferraro Scholarship Fund.
Mary Greason '86 donated $10,000 to MMC's 2005-2006 Annual Appeal.
Jacqueline Lynch '94 , along with her husband James, gave $10,000 to the Jacqueline Lynch Scholarship Fund through the Lynch Family Fund at the Community Foundation of New Jersey.
Mr. and Mrs. James Simons P'08 donated $10,000 to MMC's 2005-2006 Annual Appeal.
Sheila Wishek gave $10,000 to the Bedford Hills College Program.
The Brand Foundation of New York gave $10,000 to the Writing Center.
The Jephson Educational Trust donated $10,000 to the College for Scholarship Support.
The Mortimer Levitt Foundation contributed $10,000 to the Writing Center.
