Ways to Give Donations

There are many ways to give to Marymount Manhattan College. You can make a charitable gift of cash or stock, donate in honor of an alumna/alumnus or friend, or even take advantage of planned giving opportunities as described below. All gifts to Marymount Manhattan are tax-deductible.

Gifts of Cash
Cash contributions by check or credit card offer the easiest ways to give. MMC accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Online Gifts and Pledges
You can make a secure online gift or pledge to Marymount Manhattan today by completing our online gift form. Full payment of pledged gifts should be made by June 30 of each year.

Matching Gifts
Many companies match employee, retiree and family contributions to educational institutions, doubling or sometimes tripling the amount of your gift. To initiate a matching gift, obtain the appropriate form from your employer's human resources department and send the completed form, along with your own donation, to MMC.

Securities
Appreciated marketable securities offer an attractive and convenient way to give to Marymount Manhattan College. Donors receive a tax deduction for the market value of the securities they donate (calculated on the day of the transfer), avoiding payment of capital gains tax on the stock's appreciated value. Making a gift of securities requires two easy steps:
  • In advance of transferring the stock gift, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement, at (212) 517-0461 or atalcott@mmm.edu, with the name of the stock, the number of shares to be donated, the intended date of transfer and the name of the bank the stocks will be coming from.
  • Instruct your stockbroker or investment manager to transfer the shares via D.T.C. to:
      JPMorgan Private Bank
      D.T.C. Participant #902
      For A/C #72500
      FFC to PBD A/C #A39851307

Gifts-in-Kind
Marymount Manhattan College accepts gifts-in-kind that are appropriate to its mission. Gifts-in-kind may include, but are not limited to, works of art, scientific or technological equipment, books, and real estate.

Memorial or Honorary Gifts
Marymount Manhattan welcomes gifts made in memory of or in honor of alumni, faculty or other individuals of special importance to our donors. Such gifts can be made to the Annual Appeal for MMC for general support of the College's educational mission, or donors may direct their support to more specific purposes. To make a memorial or honorary gift, follow any of the procedures described above, making sure to identify the individual you intend to honor or memorialize. Upon receipt of such a gift, the Office of Institutional Advancement will mail a receipt to the donor and notify the honoree, or, in the case of a memorial gift, a designated individual or family member.

Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity is a combination of a gift and an investment. In exchange for a gift of cash or marketable securities, Marymount Manhattan promises to pay a fixed annual amount for life to you and/or a loved one. The annuity rates are based on the age of the beneficiary. Each gift annuity is established separately and requires a donation of $10,000 or more.

For more information on the ways to give to MMC described above, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at (212) 517-0450 or Development.
