Safe Zone is a program designed to visibly identify students, staff and faculty members who support the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning (LGBTQ) population, understand some of the issues facing LGBTQ individuals, and are aware of the various LGBTQ resources. The three-hour training session will provide a basic foundation of knowledge needed to be an effective ally to LGBTQ students and those questioning their sexuality. We encourage MMC individuals to take advantage of this unique opportunity offered only a couple of times a year. All participants will be required to attend the full three hours. At least ten participants will be needed in order to conduct the training.
Individuals who have participated in the past are welcome to attend for a “refresher” provided you complete the full three hours as a specific number of participants is needed for each session.
