Faculty News: Hallie Cohen Accepted as Visiting Artist to American Academy in Rome

Hallie Cohen, Professor of Art and Director of The Hewitt Gallery of Art, has been accepted as a Visiting Artist to the American Academy in Rome for two weeks in January 2018.

Her project, A Two-way Street: The Reciprocity between Italian Neo-realist cinema and American abstract art, in collaboration with writer Francis Levy, will examine the visual tropes and locations of the “new wave” of American artists who came to Rome in the 50’s and 60’s.
