Psychology Professor Nava Silton to Receive Alumni Achievement Award from Cornell University

Psychology Professor Nava Silton, Ph.D., will receive Cornell University’s Helen Bull Vandervort Alumni Achievement Award, the highest honor given to alumni of its College of Human Ecology.

The award is presented to one Cornell University alum each year who has made significant contributions to the community and demonstrates the qualities of the late Helen Bull Vandervort ’26. Recipients’ contributions are not only creative and philanthropic in nature, but make lasting impacts in society.

Silton’s work includes Addy & Uno, off-Broadway’s first family musical about disability and bullying, and her widely successful Realabilities Educational Comic Book Series for students about disability, strength, and friendship.

Helen Bull Vandevort was known for her philanthropic spirit, having volunteered with the local Parent Teacher Association, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and many more community, county, and state-wide organizations.

Congratulations to Professor Silton on this achievement!
