Galant has combined her studies in psychology with her love of design and was eager to speak with the Ms. Fili whose work she admires.
Guiliana writes: As part of my Senior Art Seminar capstone class, I was asked to interview an artist in his or her studio. Over the winter break, Professor Hallie Cohen arranged for me to meet with designer Louise Fili. Her company, Louise Fili Ltd, specializes in logo, package, restaurant, and book design. She has designed over 2,000 book jackets. Her extensive client list ranges from private practices to major corporations, including Sarabeth’s, Williams-Sonoma, and Tiffany & Co. Ms. Fili opened her studio to me and shared a look into her creative process. She was very generous with her time and advice; it was a pleasure getting to meet the talented Louise Fili! A video of her work is below.
The exhibit, Elegantissima: The Art and Typography of Louise Fili, comprises work from four decades displayed in different conceptually thematic room environments. This exhibition will be coming to School of Visual Arts. Anyone interested in a career in graphic design should not miss this!
