Emily Peters is the Dance & Theatre Admissions Coordinator at Marymount Manhattan College. She works with both the Dance and Theatre Arts Departments in all aspects of their recruitment, auditions, admissions, and registration. Additionally, she is the liaison between the Office of Admission and these Performing Arts Departments.
Previous to Marymount, Emily worked for the National Theater Institute (NTI) at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut as their Program Representative. She has taught acting/movement masterclasses in colleges throughout the United States, as well songwriting at The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
When Emily is not meeting with enthusiastic prospective students who are interested in studying at Marymount, she is a playwright, screenwriter, and musical theatre librettist. She is currently working on a new full length musical and her first feature length film. Her work has been featured in cabarets throughout New York City as well Christchurch, New Zealand. As a fellow artist, it is a joy to be surrounded by such creativity at work every single day.
Emily originally hails from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She received her BA in Drama with a focus in Acting at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She has also studied at the National Theatre Institute in Waterford, CT and the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Most recently, she graduated with her MFA in Musical Theatre Writing with a focus in Lyrics and Bookwriting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
