Sydney Maresca is a professional costume designer with a strong background in costume construction and fashion history. Her designs have been seen all over New York City and the country and her work has been nominated for two Henry Hewes Design Awards. She has an M.F.A. degree from New York University’s Tisch Department of Design for Stage and Film and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. Professor Maresca has worked with students both as an educator and as a designer at a number of colleges and universities including MMC, Pace, Princeton, NYU, The New School, Sarah Lawrence, Western Connecticut State University, Juilliard, and the Curtis Institute.

Sydney Maresca recently designed the costumes for the award winning play Hand to God (Broadway - Tony Nomination: Best Play, MCC, EST), Real Enemies (BAM Next Wave), John and Jen (Keen Co.), Il Turco in Italia (Juilliard), The Year of the Rooster (Ensemble Studio Theater, Henry Hewes Nomination), Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief (TheatreWorks USA), Blood Play (The Debate Society), When January Feels Like Summer (EST), 16 Words or Less (Clubbed Thumb), Alice in Wonderland (New York City Opera), Finks (EST), The Civil War (TWUSA), The Lapsburgh Layover (Ars Nova), The Marriage of Figaro (Juilliard) and The Zero Hour (13P). Film work includes: Breakup at a Wedding, Sin Matador, Movie 43’s “Superhero Speed Dating”.
