Sydney Maresca is a professional costume designer with a strong background in costume construction and fashion history. Her designs have been seen all over New York City and the country. She is a resident designer with OBIE Award winning company The Debate Society and her work was nominated for a Henry Hewes Design Award for TDS’s Buddy Cop 2. She has an M.F.A. degree from New York University’s Tisch Department of Design for Stage and Film and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. Professor Maresca has worked with students both as an educator and as a designer at a number of universities including Pace, Princeton, Sarah Lawrence, Western Connecticut State University, Juilliard and the Curtis Institute.

Sydney Maresca recently designed the costumes for Blood Play (The Debate Society), Finks (Ensemble Studio Theater), Alice in Wonderland (New York City Opera), The Civil War (TheatreWorks USA), La Brea (Clubbed Thumb), The Lapsburgh Layover (Ars Nova), Hand to God (Ensemble StudioTheater), The Year of the Rooster (Ensemble Studio Theater), The Marriage of Figaro (Juilliard) and The Zero Hour (13P). Film work includes: Breakup at a Wedding, Sin Matador, Movie 43’s “Superhero Speed Dating”, and the upcoming series Dog C.E.O for Adult Swim.
