On April 15th, fourteen Marymount Manhattan College students completed the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to provide free income tax preparation services to New York City residents. Collectively, the students volunteered over 300 hours during the 2013 tax season and prepared approximately 110 income tax returns which resulted in tax refunds of approximately $173,000 to low income New York City residents.
