Honors Day 2011
Marymount Manhattan College hosted Honors Day on March 16, 2011 to celebrate intellectual and creative achievement. This day provided an opportunity to showcase the talents of students and their faculty mentors through the sharing of outstanding student work. Opening remarks were presented by Adrienne Baxter-Bell, Ph.D., assistant professor of art history and chair of the Honors Day Planning Committee who introduced President Judson R. Shaver, Ph.D.; Julietta Lopez '12, vice president of the Student Government Association (SGA) and Evan Johnson '11, president of SGA. Peter Baker, M.A., vice president for Institutional Research and Planning presented the list of student projects.
Honors Day featured the Honors Colloquium, which took place throughout the afternoon in the College's classrooms and performances spaces. Selected students presented research papers, scholarly works, creative projects (such as paintings and photographs, dramatic and dance performances, and videos), and the results of scientific projects conducted independently and in concert with faculty mentors.
