Academic Achievement

The Office of Academic Achievement addresses many fundamental principles of Marymount Manhattan's mission. Through the Center of Academic Advancement (CAA), we strive to ensure academic success of every student. One-on-one study sessions permit individualized assistance, building on strengths and overcoming weaknesses. The CAA fosters opportunities for intellectual achievement and personal growth. Through the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunities Program (HEOP), we encourage diversity and provide exciting new opportunities for underrepresented groups to excel in higher education. HEOP staff meet with students regularly to promote student success. During the pre-freshman summer program, students interact with faculty and administrators to build a network of support for the transition to college life. The Bedford Hills College Program (BHCP) serves both to diversify the student population and to provide community service.

Academic Achievement may seem to be pieced together from a variety of programs, but in reality each program is committed to supplying students with the tools to succeed and, therefore, promotes the College Mission: to educate a socially and economically diverse population by fostering intellectual achievement and personal growth and by providing opportunities for career development. Inherent in this mission is the intent to develop an awareness of social, political, cultural and ethical issues, in the belief that this awareness will lead to concern for, participation in, and improvement of society.
