CSD Alumnae Present “Reaching Our Students with Disabilities” at Pedagogy Luncheon
Speech-Language Pathologists Christina Castronovo ’13 and Kelly Ann Peña ’13, both MMC graduates and current adjunct instructors, aimed to provide strategies for classroom management of students with unique learning challenges in their October 2019 presentation. View their presentation here.
“I was especially encouraged by how various areas of the College came together for the discussion,” wrote Susan Behrens, Ph.D., Director of C-TIE and Chair of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department, after the workshop. “Faculty, Staff, the Center for Academic Support and Tutoring, Academic Access, and Disabilities Services – all in service to our students.”
Founded in 2011, MMC’s Center for Teaching Innovation and Excellence (C-TIE) is a physical and intellectual space where our faculty members can exchange ideas, seek advice and resources, stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pedagogy, and constantly grow as teachers and mentors. C-TIE pedagogy luncheons are open to faculty and staff and are offered three to four times a semester, featuring speakers and interactive workshops focused on pedagogical issues relevant to faculty work.
