Natural Sciences Department Showcases Class of 2021 Graduates

To celebrate the Class of 2021, the Department of Natural Sciences at Marymount Manhattan College has published a series of tributes to proudly honor their seniors as they move on to the next stage of their professional lives. Lesly Castillo ’21

After graduating this May with a B.S. in Biology and a double minor in Business Management and Accounting, Castillo ’21 will use her acquired laboratory skills to work as a lab assistant and start her second Bachelor’s in an accelerated nursing program by Spring 2022.

Emily Brennan ’21

This May, Brennan graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a B.F.A. in Dance with a concentration in Ballet. She has accepted a full-time job as Project Assistant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Read more about Emily’s experience and future plans here.

Elijah Castro ’21

With his B.S. degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Behavorial Neuroscience, and a minor in Chemistry, Castro has accepted a full-time position at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Read more about Elijah here.

Cassidy Illum ’21

Graduating with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences a B.S. in Public Health, and a minor in Environmental Studies, Illum has accepted a full-time research job at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Read more about Cassidy here.

Martha Madrid ’21

A major in Urban and Environmental Sustainability, Martha will pursue a Master’s in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability at the University of Helsinki. Read more about Martha here.

Elena Markovitz ’21

After graduating with a B.S. in Biology this May, Markovitz will be working with the BioBus Outreach program to help bring the joys of learning science to all communities and build connections in the scientific world. After that, Elena plans to begin applying to various Ph.D. programs around the country. Read more about Elena here.

Ashley Pavia ’21

The B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Urban & Environmental Sustainability double major, who also earned two minors in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry, will begin a Ph.D. program in Oceanography at the University of Delaware. Read more about Ashley here.

Simran Sahansra ’21

After earning a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology this May, Sahansra now works as a research data associate and will apply to Physician Assistant programs throughout the coming year. Read more about Simran here.

Victoria Whalen ’21

In May, Whalen earned a B.A in Biology and a B.A in Urban & Environmental Sustainability, as well as a minor in Law & Ethics. She will be attending law school at the University of Oregon. Read more about Victoria here.
