MMC Graduate Accepted to Columbia Masters Program

Dominique Cagliuso ’20

Dominique Cagliuso, who graduated from MMC in 2020 with a double major in International Studies and Politics and Human Rights with a minor in Law and Ethics, has been accepted into Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She will work towards a Master of International Affairs with a concentration in Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy with a specialization in International Organizations and United Nations Studies.

“I applied to this particular program due to the rigorous academics attributed to Columbia, the opportunities that come from such an renowned alumni network, and the ability to continue my studies and research in International Human Rights Law through the Human Rights Institute and Institute of War and Peace Studies, classes at Columbia Law School, and courses taught by some of the best practitioners in the field,” shares Cagliuso. “I am most excited to meet my diverse cohort coming from many different backgrounds, each with our own knowledge and experience to share. Being around like-minded people just as passionate and dedicated to the study of human rights will push me to become the best version of myself academically, professionally, and personally.”

MMC’s Model UN Team Earns Recognition at National Conference

It’s a win for MMC! Though our Model UN Team only recently made its debut—President Avery Lauren Thomas ’25, Vice President Isaac Smith ’25, and Secretary Hannah Adames ’26 established the group this semester—that didn’t stop them from competing in the prestigious National Model UN New York Conference in April and scoring an honorable mention award.
