“Jazz Man” by Mary Ann Lamb performs at The Joyce

Adjunct faculty member Mary Ann Lamb’s cast of her piece for our ’22 Fall Mainstage, titled “Jazz Man,” performed at NYCDAF’s Destiny Rising at The Joyce.

Our cast of “Jazz Man” by Mary Ann Lamb had the opportunity to perform at The Joyce Theater as a part of New York City Dance Alliance Foundation’s sold-out Destiny Rising performance. The annual performance raises money for the NYCDAF College Scholarship program, which awards over $4.5 million in college scholarships. “Jazz Man” was choreographed by Lamb for our Fall ’22 Mainstage program, and features many of our amazing students.

Lamb has an extensive background in Broadway, film, and choreography all over the world. Her dance career is on display in a PBS documentary titled, Working Dancers II. Her vision of dance is shaped by working with the following choreographers and directors: Jerome Robbins, Graciella Daniel, Gwen Verdon, Ann Reinking, Kathleen Marshal, Susan Stroman, and Rob Marshal. These luminaries of the theater, in addition to many others, have inspired Mary Ann to pass on her artistic passion to others where she has taught dance all over the world in universities and master classes. We are so lucky to have Lamb as an adjunct faculty member here at Marymount Manhattan College!

We are so proud of our students and faculty!
