We’ve got one more reason to be #MMCProud of Annaleigh Ashford ’05. The Tony-award-winning actress, who most recently starred in Broadway’s Sweeney Todd and the Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales, was featured on Crain’s annual 40 Under 40 list in November.
According to the publication, this year’s lineup is “peppered with young visionaries who don’t have traditional desk jobs and are charting their own paths in unique and oftentimes unexpected ways.”
One of the best parts of the story? Ashford drops some pearls of wisdom for fellow performers, including this advice she learned from James Earl Jones: “You are forever a student no matter your age,” she said. “Never look side to side. You’re not in a race with someone else or with yourself. Just look forward. Follow your own journey, because it’s the right one.” Sounds about right to us!
