Kara Connolly ’19
Class of 2019, B.A. in Business with a concentration in Fashion Marketing
As I continued to grow and learn throughout my internship, I was able to connect concepts that I have learned in marketing and fashion courses I have taken for the fashion marketing concentration: Fashion Consumer Behavior and the Social Psychology of Dress, and Strategic Management.
Kara interned at Tenet, a New York-based lifestyle brand, and company founded in 2009. She was delegated different tasks with growing responsibility over time including filling out purchase orders, inputting orders into inventory systems, creating mood boards for several collections, editing products, and improving social media outreach. After graduation Kara joined Bergdorf Goodman, NYC as a Merchandising Assistant.
Kara credits her MMC Business education with giving her the tools to succeed in her internship: “As I continued to grow and learn throughout this internship, I was able to connect concepts that I have learned in different courses at Marymount. This became increasingly notable as I learned more about the company itself as well as the tasks of the buyer.”
