Natalie Sorkin ’20

Class of 2020, B.A. in Business with a concentration in Advertising and Promotion

I have been given a lot more responsibilities. For example, I had to go to a concert production company warehouse and safely transport a keyboard to a radio studio for one of our artist’s sessions. I was also given confidential music to listen to and transcribe the lyrics.

About

Natalie interned at Mom + Pop, a New York City-based independent record label where she was responsible for a growing breadth of responsibilities including researching music trends, working through client lists in excel, social media metrics and analysis as well as maintaining tour itineraries. Throughout her internship, Natalie made sure she networked with people in different departments so that she could learn more about their jobs in order to become more knowledgeable about the music industry. Towards the end of her internship, she wrote of the experience:

“I have been given a lot more responsibilities. For example, I had to go to a concert production company warehouse and safely transport a keyboard to a radio studio for one of our artist’s sessions. I was also given confidential music to listen to and transcribe the lyrics. I have been sitting down with managers more to discuss questions that I have about the work they do and about general music industry concepts. I feel that people in the office trust me to help them because they know I am more than capable which is very encouraging.”
