Hope Knight ’85

About

Ms. Knight is former Chair of MMC’s Board of Trustees and currently New York State’s Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development and President/CEO of Empire State Development. She was previously President and CEO of the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, one of New York’s oldest not-for-profit local development corporations. Prior positions include Chief Operating Officer of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) and Vice President of the Institutional Equities Division at Morgan Stanley and worked for that firm in its Tokyo office from 1997 to 2000. Ms. Knight has twice been an Adjunct Lecturer at MMC in Corporate Finance courses and is an alumna of the College, receiving her BA in Business Management in 1985. She has also worked in the Commissioner’s Office of the Department of General Services as Director, Planning and Analysis for the City of New York. Ms. Knight received her BA in Business from MMC and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
