Paloma Brooks’ 22

Class of 2022, B.A. in Business with a concentration in Media and Arts Management and minors in Music and Music Industry

I’ve always wanted to combine my love of music with my interest in business and my studies at MMC support that. MMC’s business classes make me a better, well-rounded artist because they provide me with tools to be more independent and make informed decisions behind the scenes of making music.

A highlight of my studies at MMC was my internship at Jazz at Lincoln Center in the Branding, Sales & Marketing department. My experience included: assisting professional jazz musicians, going to concerts, conducting market research for an upcoming album, and organizing inventory for the in-house record label. After my internship I was selected to present my work at Honor’s Day at MMC. I am grateful to the business department faculty who were so excited and supportive of my collaboration in music and business.”

About

“I studied Business with a concentration in Media and Arts Management, with double minors in Music and the Music Industry.

As an aspiring jazz singer, musicianship classes are important to help hone in on my craft. Because my music teachers are professionals in the field, they have also become my mentors. In addition, the business classes offered make me a better well-rounded artist because it provides me with tools to be more independent and make informed decisions behind the scenes of making music.”

While at MMC, Paloma interned at Jazz at Lincoln Centre, the  American Ballet Theatre and Jingle Punks.  Post MMC, Paloma accepted the position of Repertory Representative at ASCAP.  She also continues to perform as a Jazz Vocalist.
