Shay Walsh ’25
About
(she/they) Hi! I’m Shay, a junior majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Child Development and a minor in Drama Therapy. I’m also the president of PRISM, our LGBTQIA+ Club on campus. I hope to go to graduate school directly after graduation and get my master’s degree in clinical child psychology and a drama therapy license. I am still deciding whether I will go on to get my Ph.D.
What are some of your interests?
My interests include listening to music (and creating many, MANY playlists), reading books (I love all genres and will always take new book recommendations!), watching movies (I am a HUGE Marvel geek, but I love sci-fi and romcoms too!), and playing with my pets when I am at home (I have two dogs, Mocha and Molly, and a cat named Dela). I am from outside of Philly, but I grew up in North Jersey, so I am a big snob when it comes to cheesesteaks and pizza.
What made you want to be a peer mentor?
I want to be a peer mentor because I was once a scared freshman at MMC, and I wish they had had this opportunity for me back then. I want to be a resource for the current freshman class because I know how hard it can be to transition from high school to college.
