Ben Paljor Chatag ’15 Publishes in YESHE, a Journal of Tibetan Literature, Arts and Humanities

Studio Art and International Studies double major Ben Paljor Chatag ’15 recently published “Curatorial Reflections on ‘Transforming Minds: Kyabje Gelek Rimpoche and Friends, Photographs by Allen Ginsberg 1989-1997’ in Yeshe: A Journal of Tibetan Literature, Arts and Humanities. “I was inspired to curate the show because Rimpoche was my grandfather,” Chatag said. “I thought it was important to show pictures of Rimpoche and people around him interested in transforming their minds and society through love and compassion, which is what we continue to need in today’s world.”
MARGARET ROLEKE: Artist Activist

Margaret Roleke ’84, Studio art alum, is having a solo exhibition, “MARGARET ROLEKE:  MARCH ON SOCIETY” from January 5 - February 5 at The CAMP Gallery (Contemporary Art Modern Project Gallery). The exhibit will feature cyanotypes, wall reliefs, and outdoor sculptures. The work will address issues of violence against women, gun violence, and related social issues.

When Judith Mara Carson, a well-known champion of New York City arts and culture, graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2003 with a degree in Art History, she saw in her mind’s eye a luminous creative space at the College that would reflect the education she had received.
