Meet Your Peer Leaders

New York City Seminars are characterized by the participation of a Peer Leader—an upper-level student who works in tandem with the course professor and helps students learn the ropes and navigate MMC and life in the city. Peer Leaders go through an intensive training in order to become trusted advisors who serve as resources for students both inside and outside the classroom

Meet a few of our 2019–20 Peer Leaders:

  • Alexander Adams
Major/Minor: Design and Technical Production with a concentration in Scenic Design and a minor in Studio Art

Alexander Adams is a sophomore at MMC. He has been involved backstage in local theater since high school. Outside of school, he is… Probably still in a theater, honestly. Alex is looking forward to meeting and working with you all!

  • Dejah Bradshaw
Major/Minor: Politics and Human Rights and Theatre Arts with a concentration in performance

Dejah is a rising Sophomore at MMC!

  • Brooke Burns
Major/Minor: Musical Theatre with a minor in Drama Therapy

Hello! My name is Brooke Burns and I am a rising junior here at MMC. I am thrilled to start my first year as a Peer Leader! I’m from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Outside of theatre, my interests include Disney princesses, food, and my two dogs Snickerdoodle and Pixie (although I am open to love all the dogs I see on the streets of NYC.) I look forward to meeting everyone and having a great year! Sincerely, Brooke Burns

  • Conner Hefner
Major/Minor: Theatre performance with a minor in Musical Theatre

My name is Conner Hefner and I am from Macon, GA. I am a rising junior at Marymount. I enjoy watching movies, petting animals whose owners will let me, and exploring the city with my friends on my days off!

  • Ariel Hilario
Major/Minor: Double major in Finance and Digital Media & Video Production

Ariel Hilario is a junior at Marymount Manhattan College. He is proud to be peer leader and an executive member of C.A.B., Cinemaniacs, and the MMC Sports and Athletics Club. In his free time, he enjoys songwriting and storytelling.

  • JK Larkin
Major/Minor: BFA Acting Major with three minors in Dance, Drama Therapy, and Art Therapy.

JK Larkin is a rising junior here at MMC who comes from Long Island, New York. He currently serves on the Theater Arts Student Council and as one of the Drama Therapy representatives for the school. In his free time, outside of school, JK cantors at St. Anastasia’s Parish in Douglaston, Queens, coaches high school level Speech and Debate, and sees as many shows on Broadway as his wallet will allow. JK is beyond excited to meet all of you and hopes that he can introduce you to the city that he has been proud to call home for his entire life

  • Allison Miller
Major/Minor: BFA Acting with a minor in Drama Therapy

My name is Allison Miller and I’m so excited to be returning as a PL this year. I am very passionate about theatre education and therapeutic theatre and spent my summer working with children back home in Memphis, TN. I love MMC and the city with my whole heart and can’t wait to meet you!

  • Victoria Whalen
Major/Minor: Double major in Biology and Environmental Studies with a soon to be minor in Asian Studies

Victoria is a sophomore at MMC. Originally from Georgia, she loves anything artsy and has a passion for performing! Even though she is heavily involved in the science department Victoria can’t wait to meet the incoming and returning students from every major.

  • Skylar Woodhouse
Major/Minor: Digital Journalism Major with a minor in Fashion and International Studies

Hey guys! I’m Skylar, (pronouns she/her/hers) and am currently a sophomore from Chesapeake, Virginia. On Campus I enjoy writing for Her Campus MMC, the school newspaper, The Monitor and participating in various Marymount Muscle events. When I am not on campus I like to adventure around the city and try different workout classes, eat sushi, hang with friends, travel, binge watch various TV shows and keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The best part about attending Marymount is the 1:1 attention I have with my professors and all of the wonderful people I have met and built relationships with. I wish all of you a fun and successful first year at Marymount Manhattan College and I cannot wait to help guide the class of 2022! I am always willing to answer any questions and help out when needed, so do not hesitate to ask.
