    MMC’s Chemistry minor gives you a solid foundation in general and organic chemistry, preparing you for graduate and professional programs. This minor is ideal for students aspiring to medicine and other health-related fields, as well as art conservation, environmental science, and food science.

    Program Highlights

    Cell and Molecular Biology students master the ?art? of pipetting.

    MMC’s Chemistry minor, in combination with a major in Studio Art or Art History, provides excellent preparation for careers and graduate school in Art Conservation. Our prime location in NYC allows undergraduate students to visit conservation labs at some of the greatest museums in the world and pursue unparalleled apprenticeships. Our students have gone on to prestigious graduate programs in Art Conservation, including at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.

    The Chemistry minor provides a unique opportunity for Biology and Biomedical Sciences majors to deepen their knowledge and experience in the chemical field. A chemistry minor enhances medical school applications and is broadly useful in all fields of health sciences.

    We offer undergraduates extraordinary opportunities to conduct original research with chemistry faculty. Examples include computational chemistry research with Dr. Benedetta Sampoli Benitez and environmental geochemistry research with Dr. Alessandra Leri.

    • MMC allowed me to establish close and lasting relationships with my professors through an intimate and challenging learning environment. As a result of my hard work and the support I received, I am now working as a research technician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I am able to apply lab techniques and skills from my education and hands-on experience at MMC. It was an honor to be taught and work alongside such brilliant educators.
