You are creative and unique. You want to shout from the rooftops who you are and what you believe. You want to express yourself.

We’re here to listen, closely.

We want to know about you: the real you. Not just the tests you took or the grades you got. Tell us a story—the story of YOU.

Zero in on a moment in your life that shows how you’ve changed or lets you reflect. Tell us what excites you, what you’ve thought deeply about, what you strive for. Most of all, focus on YOU—how you felt, what you experienced, why you were transformed. It’s you we’re interested in. It’s your story we’re excited to hear.

At MMC, you are not a set of academic credentials. You are a whole person, and you deserve to be seen and known.

Our goal is to ensure access and equity in our admission process by eliminating obstacles you may face when completing the application process. To this end, MMC is test-optional for Fall 2023 domestic applicants and will no longer require an application fee.

Note, this policy does not affect academic scholarship offerings. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admission.

At MMC, you won’t just find your best friends for life—you’ll meet the folks you end up working with! That’s true for Rikki Ziegelman ’18 and Hayden Anderson ’17, co-founders of the theatre company @harptheatricals, and producers and playwrights Lee Harrison Daniel ’21 and Max Berry ’20, who are helping artists tell their stories through @firstkisstheatre. “Being yourself and building relationships that are meaningful to you on a personal level can naturally breed opportunities,” Anderson said. We’re #MMCProud of alum Monet Hurst-Mendoza ’09, a playwright, director, and theatre producer. Her play Torera, which follows a Mexican woman training to become a matador, will have its world premiere at the venerated @AlleyTheatre in Houston this spring. And that’s just the start: Following a month-long run there, the play will be produced by Connecticut’s Long-Wharf Theatre. “I haven’t had a significant run of one of my works before, so I’m looking forward to seeing subsequent productions and how the play will evolve,” she said. As we celebrate #MLKDay, we look to his late widow and a member of the MMC community, Coretta Scott King. Coretta received an honorary degree from Marymount Manhattan College in 1969; that same year, she sponsored the very first #MLKDay observance in Atlanta. She would go on to lead the 15-year fight to have Dr. King’s birthday recognized as a national holiday. Coretta was also a tireless champion of peace, justice, and human rights herself. A longtime advocate for LGBT rights, she noted in 1998 that “homophobic attitudes and policies were unjust and unworthy of a free society and must be opposed by all Americans who believe in democracy.” She died in 2006, but we still draw from her wisdom, including her reminder that “freedom is never really won; you earn it and win it in every generation.”  💙

💙 We're #MMCProud of Jackson Webb ’22, one of 900 @PeaceCorps volunteers setting out across the globe this month as the agency resumes its overseas services. The Peace Corps suspended its international operations at the start of the pandemic. Webb will work as an education volunteer, teaching English in the Southeast Asian country Timor Leste. He'll also participate in projects to support the area's ongoing recovery from COVID-19. "The Peace Corps' mission is to help build communities outside the United States and build a cross-cultural connection between the U.S. and other countries," Webb said.
