Welcome back, Griffins!

We’ve updated our Health and Safety Guidelines for the Fall 2021 semester. Visit MMC Onward to get the details.

You are creative and unique. You want to shout from the rooftops who you are and what you believe. You want to express yourself.

We’re here to listen, closely.

We want to know about you: the real you. Not just the tests you took or the grades you got. Tell us a story—the story of YOU.

Zero in on a moment in your life that shows how you’ve changed or lets you reflect. Tell us what excites you, what you’ve thought deeply about, what you strive for. Most of all, focus on YOU—how you felt, what you experienced, why you were transformed. It’s you we’re interested in. It’s your story we’re excited to hear.

At MMC, you are not a set of academic credentials. You are a whole person, and you deserve to be seen and known.

Our goal is to ensure access and equity in our admission process by eliminating obstacles you may face when completing the application process. Effective immediately, MMC will be test-optional for Fall 2021 domestic applicants. We are reviewing our policy for international admission.

Note this new policy does not affect Fall 2021 scholarship offerings. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admission.

Stop #1 on our Division Chair #featureFriday spotlight tour! Meet Peter Schaefer, Ph.D., the chair of MMC's Division of Communication and Media Arts. Dr. Schaefer teaches media studies classes from critical-cultural and historical perspectives and is currently working on a book project about the use of catalog music in streaming services. • "I am very excited about being in person in my teaching and thrilled to have the spark in the classroom that comes from having a classroom full of students. That’s what I’m really excited about and it’s been great so far!” • You can visit the Division of Communication and Media Arts on the 5th floor of Nugent Hall right across from the elevators in room 560. For the next several weeks, we'll be showcasing our various divisions, the faculty that lead them, and where to find them. Stay tuned! #MarymountManhattan #DivisionChair #TheChair #CommArts

Have you seen these beautiful new sculptures on Main Campus? Created by visiting artist Yvonne Shortt, the two pieces were installed at MMC to uplift students’ personal narratives through public art. If you haven’t had the chance to, visit the Lowerre Family Terrace to see “Warrior Afro Pick,” created to promote self-reflection by the observer. And as you walk towards Second Avenue, take a look at the front of the Townhouse at 255 East 71st Street to view “Accessory Afro Pick,” which explores Shortt’s personal narrative as a woman of color. Throughout her time with MMC, Yvonne will engage the community in conversation over the role of visiting artist as a collaborative partner creating conduits to lift student voices. Read more about Yvonne, the inspiration for her artwork, and her role at MMC at the link in our bio!

Our 2021 Welcome Week included residence hall move-in, important information and social events on campus, excursions all across this crazy city, and an official Convocation Ceremony for new students! From a sunset boat cruise, exploring Manhattan’s newest island, and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (all during a heat wave 🥵), none of this could have been possible without MMC’s Student Life team, Residence Hall staff and RAs, our incredible facilities team, the PEER LEADERS, and so many more. Thank you. We can’t wait for Monday!

Not even a hurricane can stop the Class of 2025! Despite the rain, we moved hundreds of new Griffins into our Cooper Square and 55th Street residence halls this weekend. A huge thank you to our invaluable Facilities team and the incredible group of RAs, Peer Leaders, and Griffin Guides who helped our Residence Life staff move our new group of students in.
