Welcome back, Griffins!

We’ve updated our Health and Safety Guidelines for the Fall 2021 semester. Visit MMC Onward to get the details.

The Admission Office main phone line is currently out of service. Please call the following number to reach the Admission Office: 917-880-7541.

You are creative and unique. You want to shout from the rooftops who you are and what you believe. You want to express yourself.

We’re here to listen, closely.

We want to know about you: the real you. Not just the tests you took or the grades you got. Tell us a story—the story of YOU.

Zero in on a moment in your life that shows how you’ve changed or lets you reflect. Tell us what excites you, what you’ve thought deeply about, what you strive for. Most of all, focus on YOU—how you felt, what you experienced, why you were transformed. It’s you we’re interested in. It’s your story we’re excited to hear.

At MMC, you are not a set of academic credentials. You are a whole person, and you deserve to be seen and known.

Our goal is to ensure access and equity in our admission process by eliminating obstacles you may face when completing the application process. Effective immediately, MMC will be test-optional for Fall 2021 domestic applicants. We are reviewing our policy for international admission.

Note this new policy does not affect Fall 2021 scholarship offerings. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admission.

Everyone in the MMC community has their own way of spending the Thursday of Fall Break. As a whole, the five days of the break give us a chance to relax and recharge—whether by spending time with family and friends or perhaps by finding a quiet moment alone. When we return next week, the Intercultural Center will be hosting Indigenous/Latino lecturer, storyteller, and poet Bobby Gonzalez for a keynote presentation titled “The Tapestry of American History Through Native Eyes.” Join us on November 30 at 4pm in the IC. Stop #4 on our #featureFriday Division Chair spotlight tour! Meet Vandana Rao, Ph.D., the chair of MMC’s Division of Business. Dr. Rao is teaching three courses this semester: an NYC Seminar, which gives first-year students an up-close-and-personal look at businesses in the city; and two sections of Strategic Management, the capstone course for Business majors. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Rao moderates two business-related student clubs: the Investment Club and the Marymount Business Association, which helps MMC students make connections in the NYC biz world and build their network. You can visit Dr. Rao and the Division of Business on the 5th floor of Carson Hall in Room 517.

The Department of Theatre Arts is pleased to present Pippin - Book by Roger O Hirson, Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz! Performances are November 11-13 at 8 pm, and November 13-14 at 2 pm. Tickets go on sale TODAY, November 4 at 11 am! Click the link in our bio to get your tickets! Special Note: ALL audience members must show proof of vaccination prior to being granted access to any ticketed event at a theatre in NYC, per the Mayor’s most recent Emergency Order. MMC requires that all individuals in the audience wear an appropriate face covering that conforms to CDC COVID-19 guidelines for masks at all times during a performance, and while on campus. Neither a negative test, nor an antibody test, satisfy the NYC vaccination requirement for theatres. Non-MMC ID cardholders must complete a health survey prior to entry.

Stop #3 on our Division Chair spotlight tour! Meet Benedetta “Biba” Sampoli Benitez, Ph.D., the chair of MMC's Division of Sciences. In addition to her teaching chemistry, biochemistry, and nutrition, she and two MMC research assistants are currently working on a collaboration with Northeastern University to understand how protein can bypass DNA lesions. “I’m so excited for the fall semester! It feels so amazing — I just love to be back with my students. There is a different vibe. There is no Zoom that will match the pulse of a classroom." You can visit Dr. Sampoli and the Division of Sciences on the 6th floor of Carson Hall in room 614. Stay tuned next week to meet the next division, their faculty leader, and where to find them. Stay tuned!
