Your admissions file for the college does not need to be completed with transcripts, test scores, essays and recommendations, but the application must be received for a prospective student or transfer to schedule an audition for dance.

Once you have started your Marymount Manhattan College application, then you can schedule your audition for the dance department. Schedule Dance Audition here.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO MAIL IN ANY PORTION OF THE DANCE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION!

It is to your advantage to audition in person, but if extreme circumstances prevent travel a digital audition may be submitted through the Admissions Portal

Please keep in mind the Dance Department can not release your decision until you have been admitted by the Office of Admission.

DigitAL AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Taped personal interview including your name, why you are applying to MMC, and your aspirations as a dancer.
  • Video demonstrating ballet barre and ballet centre.
  • Two-minute video of your solo in ballet, modern, contemporary or jazz styles.

Scholarships

At the audition, candidates compete for dance scholarships, renewable for three years if the student remains in the dance program and maintains a 3.0 grade point average. Dance scholarships are awarded on the basis of talent and academic record.

Scholarships recipients are informed of their awards from the dance department when financial aid packets are sent from the college following the entire audition season. In addition, the College offers many academic scholarships; contact the Admissions Office at 212.517.0430 for further information about these scholarships and other questions regarding acceptance to the College.
