The Dance Department has five studios on campus and two studios at our 63rd Street space for daily classes and rehearsals, as well as two main performance spaces on campus.
The Great Hall, with state-of-the-art flooring and dimensions of 34’ X 76’, is one of New York City’s largest dance studios, which is divided by a movable sound proof wall to create flexibility as one or two studios. The Dance Department holds two performance series each semester in this space called Dancers At Work.
The Dance Studio (24’ X 30’), Studio 459 (24’ X 32’) and Studio 457 (22’ X52’) are excellent spaces for classes and rehearsals. All the studios are equipped with sprung flooring, marley, mirrors, barres, and pianos.
The Theresa Lang Theatre, located on campus, is home to both Theatre and Dance performances. This proscenium theater seats 249 guests and has housed performances by The Martha Graham Company and Parsons Dance. The Dance Department holds one performance series each semester in this space.
The 63rd Street Studios, formerly knows as the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance on 63rd and 2nd Avenue, are equipped with sprung flooring, marley, mirrors, barres, and pianos.
