Dearest Friends of Dance,
The Dance Department, like all of you, has found itself in unprecedented territory in which the internet has been our best tool to stay connected. With the enormous challenge and the necessary changes we faced, we have seen our department rise above and meet these challenges head on. We turned a curriculum that was completely off-line into one that was virtually all online, and we did that within a week’s time. So, it is with great pride that the Dance Department shares our virtual performances with you. I hope you will agree that we not only rose to the occasion, but that we reached beyond all expectations. While this is not our usual Gala Celebration, and we will not be able to share handshakes and hugs and toast with a fabulous glass of champagne, we hope you might toast the dancers and your friendship with Dance from the safety of your homes.
Now more than ever, we kindly ask you to continue your tradition of giving to Dance at Marymount Manhattan College. It is no secret that higher education is taking a financial hit from COVID-19, and we would like to ensure that Dance at Marymount Manhattan College has a continued and successful legacy long after the pandemic clears. Please consider your tradition of giving and join us now. These funds help in countless ways to ensure our students get the best the dance world has to offer including scholarship opportunities that are so needed.
We are eager to have you join us in person in the future to witness for yourselves how your contributions impact our students. In the meantime, we do so hope you will join us virtually.
With many thanks, and most sincerely,
Katie Langan ’92
