Minors

The Department of Natural Sciences offers four majors in which students can explore the life sciences and develop a solid foundation in key scientific principles. A minor in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, or Neuroscience can be a fruitful complement to nearly any major seeking to expand knowledge and career options.

Biology Minor

A Biology minor prepares students to excel in the biological, chemical, physical, and mathematical sciences.

Chemistry Minor

If you’re interested in medicine, health sciences, forensic science, art conservation, cosmetics, wine-making, food science, or molecular gastronomy, our chemistry minor is right for you.

Environmental Studies Minor

Study environmental issues with a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Most courses can be double-dipped with general education requirements, making this minor a perfect supplement to any major.

Neuroscience Minor

Neuroscience is the interdisciplinary study of the nervous system and behavior. The Neuroscience at MMC integrates information from different disciplines, such as psychology, biology, and chemistry.

This minor gives students the opportunity to explore some of the most intriguing questions about behavior and science. This minor can be fulfilled with a psychology or biology major, which offers an excellent foundation for admission to graduate or professional programs, mainly for careers involving research, teaching, and medicine.
