“Meeting fellow students was great! Lots of questions were answered and I'm very excited to start school.” MMC Student

Griffin Days is a day-long orientation program for students who have decided to attend MMC, and their parents.

Students participate in small groups to explore the College, ask questions of current MMC students, be advised by faculty and staff, take another (optional) peek at the residence hall to prepare for their new homes, and register for fall classes.

Parents attend conference-style workshops on Academics, Financing Your MMC Education, Gaining Peace of Mind, CityEdge, a College Panel, and Letters to Your Student.

To register for Griffin Days Orientation, login to your Admissions Portal. If you have not yet submitted your tuition deposit to reserve your place in the class, you must complete the "Reply to Offer of Admission" form and submit your tuition deposit first. Once this is completed, you will see the available Griffin Days on your portal. Need help logging in?

The neighborhood. The campus. Everything NYC has to offer you as a Marymount Manhattan College student.

What are my classes? Where will I be living? How do I get around NYC? How can I make my first year at MMC the best ever?

A community. A plan. A group of friends. Connections with faculty. A vision of yourself at MMC.

Can't attend Griffin Days? Please let us know! Also, feel free to get in touch with any questions.

You will be welcomed by Marymount Manhattan College’s top Administrators and Griffy the Griffin. Your day will include activities such as:

  • The Griffin Launch: Get excited about starting your journey as a Griffin when our guest speaker shares her enthusiastic and joyful approach to joining the MMC family.

  • Advisement: Have the opportunity for meetings with faculty or staff academic advisors who will provide you with your fall semester class schedule.

  • CityEdge: Learn about MMC’s signature college-to-career programming that combines on-line professional development resources, hands-on career services assistance, relevant academic coursework, and access to the greatest City in the world.

  • Meet a Griffin: Join small groups of fellow students to meet your wonderful Griffin Guide—a current MMC student who will help you begin to learn the ropes.

  • Griffin Picnic: Enjoy lunch on our outdoor terrace with MMC students and staff, as well as our mascot, Griffy the Griffin.

  • Sessions on sex, inclusivity, and living on/off campus: Life as a college student can be new and fun as you become independent and meet new friends. Make sure you’re prepared for this new chapter as you learn about healthy relationships, being part of an inclusive community, and life in the residence halls or as a commuter.

  • 55th Street Residence Tour: Participate in an optional tour of your potential new home.

While students are busy learning about life at MMC, families can choose to attend a variety of different sessions, including:

  • Financial Aid Appointments: In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Financial Services staff. We’ll look at your student’s billing statement and financial aid awards, and answer any questions you may have about financing your student’s education at MMC.

  • CityEdge: Learn about MMC’s signature program, CityEdge. At MMC, “college” and “career” go hand in hand. Our location on New York’s Upper East Side means your student will never be more than a few steps or subway stops from Wall Street, Broadway, Museum Mile, the United Nations, major TV networks, and everything else the city has to offer.

  • Gaining Peace of Mind: Discuss students’ adjustment to leaving home and coming to live at Marymount Manhattan College, and gain insight on life in the residence halls and staying safe in NYC. We will prepare you for your own journey as the parent/family of a first year college student.

  • Letters to Your Student: Write a letter to your student for them to open on their first day of school. Feel free to provide encouragement, advice, and well-wishes for your new college student!

  • Ask Us Anything: A College Panel: This is your opportunity to find out about campus resources, student events, and college-wide programs; plus you can ask our panel anything!

  • Center for Student Services Trivia: Learn about our one-stop shop for financial aid, registration & records, and billing through an interactive game. Winners will receive prizes! When are bills due? How do you register for classes? What exactly does the Center for Student Services do? Join us in this fun, competitive session to find out the answers to these and many other important questions. We’ll cover topics like dates, deadlines, financial aid requirements, and basic information on registration and student accounts that ALL families and students need to know.

  • Office of Disability Services appointments: During advisement for Griffin Days, you can sign up for individual appointments with the Office of Disability Services to discuss accommodations or the Academic Access program.
“Today provided a great overview of everything I had questions about. It was definitely worth the trip and so informative and fun.” MMC Parent
“All the sessions—financial aid, academics, campus safety—were very helpful.” MMC Parent
“Everyone was great. I feel my daughter will be in good hands here.” MMC Parent

You are an important part of Griffin Days, if you are able to attend.

Just like your student will get acclimated to MMC, you will meet with MMC administrators to discuss the academic program, your student's financial aid package, and any other questions you might have about life at Marymount.
