Jordan Barnett ’21 Biomedical Sciences and Behavioral Neuroscience Double Major
  • Jordan Barnett '21

Hello, my name is Jordan Barnett and I am a junior Biomedical Sciences/Behavioral Neuroscience student at Marymount Manhattan College. I am the Vice President of Science Society, Secretary of Psychology Club, and a member of the Student Activities Advisory Board and BLSA. There are so many opportunities I have received based on my exceptional education at MMC, but one opportunity I value greatly is being a work-study student in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department!

My job primarily includes working closely with Dr. Ann Aguanno updating graduate admissions information, putting together insightful displays for students interested in volunteering opportunities and internships, as well as keeping in contact and having updated information of our Biology alumni. On numerous occasions, I have felt truly involved in impactful moments in the department that have allowed me to grow as a student and person. Dr. Aguanno giving me this opportunity has allowed me to grow outside of my shell, engage with many students current and graduated, build confidence, and strive to be my very best!

Specifically, I have learned the importance of time management and expressing my opinion. I believe the faculty in the Natural Sciences Department have truly taught me what it means to be a family, and how important it is to always support one another. Dr. Aguanno, Dr. Leri, Dr. Sampoli, and Professor Wat have been such amazing role models of diligence and sincerely having a passion for what they do, and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to learn beside them. I cannot wait to have many more amazing experiences here at MMC!
