“There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps,” explains MMC’s official group page. “It’s helping fund innovative research. It’s providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.”
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities behind the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives from breast cancer. We all walk together, but the event is not a race. Participants are encouraged to stop whenever needed and do not need to complete the entire walk if unable. The walk, roughly 4 miles-long, concludes when the final walker crosses the finish line (aprx. 12:00pm).
If you’d like to join The Science Society for this year’s 2019 walk, meet at MMC in the Hewitt Gallery (lobby) at 7:15am. Check out the Walker map for a more detailed look at the event.
