The 2018 Gurcharan Singh Lecture featured the Director of Peacekeeping at the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) who discussed the role of non-government organizations in protecting civilian populations in high conflict areas, the dangers of such work, and the progress that has been made during her 20-year career.

The International Studies Department at Marymount Manhattan College would like to thank Ms. Giffen for her inspiring discussion, our students for their fabulous questions, and the Singh family for attending and their constant support of the International Studies program at MMC.
