Get to know the Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media major from California who was selected as this year’s Student Speaker for the 2019 Commencement ceremony at Lincoln Center.

Jaswin “Billie” Sangha moved to New York City to pursue an education and career in digital media and youth development. Her passion for working with young people and for minority representation in film and television has been a defining characteristic of her professional and academic reputation. Throughout her time at MMC, Billie has worked tirelessly as a student leader, teacher, and multi-media artist with the goal of making a difference in the lives of others through both education and entertainment.

Recently, Sangha received the IDEAL award at MMC’s annual Student Leadership Awards ceremony. The prize recognizes one student or organization that has made a significant impact on the College community by continuously celebrating and encouraging the highest ideals of diversity and inclusion.

Sangha will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media and a minor in Business Management, with which she hopes to take the industry by storm and make everyone who has supported her proud.

Congratulations, Billie!
