Int.’ Studies Student Dorian Provencher Takes Research Beyond the Classroom

Congrats to PHR/IS double major Dorian Provencher, whose paper African and Western States’ Approach to Human Rights: A Theoretical Analysis of State Behavior in the HRC’s Universal Periodic Review was accepted to two political science conferences!

Dorian presented his paper African and Western States’ Approach to Human Rights: A Theoretical Analysis of State Behavior in the HRC’s Universal Periodic Review at both the New York State Political Science Association (NYSPSA) and the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) conference events. Both events included a panelist discussion on international relations broadly with a focus on human rights.

“These conferences gave me the opportunity to both continue my research process, as well as receive feedback from the larger poli-sci community. It was an honor to be accepted, and a great learning experience. I look forward to continuing my research on international human rights next semester and beyond, maybe even as a part of the UN HRC one day!”

Dorian is a rising senior, and recent Honors Day presenter.
