MMC’s Model UN Team Earns Recognition at National Conference

The conference is an academic simulation of the UN, in which participating schools are assigned one or more countries to research and represent. MMC was given the Philippines, with students Iliana Mejia ’26 and Grace Staples ’25 joining Adames, Smith, and Thomas.
Though other teams were twice as large and had up to eight months to prepare, MMC’s newly formed squad had just three weeks to get ready—making the recognition even sweeter.
“Our goal was to go and have fun, fully commit to the simulation, and meet new people. That’s what we set out to do,” Thomas said. “We hadn’t even thought about placing, so to receive recognition based on the work we put in and how we engaged at the conference was beyond our wildest dreams.”
