Sameera Uddin ’14

Class of 2014, Major in Political Science and Minor in International Studies

Sameera currently works as the Founding Community Engagement and Partnerships Manager for NYC Kids RISE, a nonprofit organization working to expand economic opportunity and equity for all families in NYC.

About

After graduating in May 2014, Sameera embarked on a three month internship with the Irish Parliament in Dublin, Ireland.  This was her third and last internship as a J.K. Watson Fellow, a three year competitive award for promising and talented undergraduates that provides paid summer internships, mentoring and enriched educational opportunities for three consecutive summers. At the Parliament, Sameera put her knowledge of political science and her background in economics and international relations into practice. She contributed in crafting a 5-year economic recovery plan for Ireland, as well as writing a report on the creation of a regional aid map for Dublin. She strongly believes that the future of NYC depends on developing college and career ready young men and women, and it requires a collaborative effort from all levels.
