Abby Fiorella ’83

About

Abby Fiorella was elected Chair of MMC’s Board of Trustees in May 2022. She is currently Chief Technology Risk Officer for Mastercard, where she establishes and oversees processes to support the holistic assessment and governance of technology risk, including risk identification/mitigation, control validation, and stakeholder assurance. She is also Chair of the Technology Risk Committee, which is responsible for the aggregation and reporting of technology risks to Executive Management and the Board of Directors. In her previous role at Mastercard, as General Auditor, she was responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on the design and effectiveness of the company’s risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. She has also lead Mastercard’s global compliance programs, including ethics, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, trade sanctions, and privacy & data protection. Before joining Mastercard, Ms. Fiorella served as a Director in KPMG’s Forensic Services practice and was an Assistant District Attorney in New York County. Ms. Fiorella formerly served on the NYC LGBT Community Center Board and is an executive mentor and on the advisory board of OutWomen. She has received numerous accolades for her community engagement work, is executive sponsor of Mastercard’s Pride business resource group, and was recently selected by Crain’s New York Business as a 2022 Notable LGBTQ Leader. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Marymount Manhattan College and a J.D. with honors from New York Law School.
