Kriota Willberg uses choreography, drawing, needlework, historical studies, and her experiences from her career as a massage therapist and health science educator to explore body/science narratives. Her dance films: The Bentfootes (2008), won 2nd Place in Narrative Feature at the Landlocked Film Festival; Sunscreen Serenade was nominated for a Jury Prize in the 2010 Dance On Camera Festival. As a massage therapist, she has worked with populations ranging from the New York Giants football team to patients at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center. A cartoonist in the area of Graphic Medicine, Willberg’s injury prevention for artists book, Draw Stronger, will be published in April 2018 by Uncivilized Books. Willberg is the inaugural Artist In Residence at the New York Academy of Medicine Library. Her most recent choreography can be seen on Hulu in Difficult People: Season 3, Episode 9.
