Michael S. Johnson, the newest member of the Marymount team, comes to us from Dutchess Community College (Poughkeepsie NY). He joined us here at Marymount as of August 1st, and will be stepping into the newly created role as the Assistive Technology Specialist for the Disabilities Services Department. The Assistive Technology Specialist role, as with Disability Services, falls under the Division of Student Affairs. Michael served in a similar role for three years at his previous collegiate employment and we are happy to welcome him aboard.
Previous to his role as an ATS, for 15 years Michael culminated his experience as an IT Specialist/Professional working at several companies including IBM, Time Warner, The Culinary Institute, and 1199seiu. In addition to being an I.T. and Assistive Technology Specialist, Michael is also an author and entrepreneur from the Hudson Valley region of New York. He’s published several novels/books and is eager to bring that creative energy here to Marymount Manhattan.
As the Assistive Technology Specialist here at Marymount, Michael will interface with both students and faculty pertaining to Assistive Technology hardware and software. As part of function, he will coordinate with the IT Department and College Library, and provide training individually and in workshops for the College Community.
